Ayumi Taguchi教授の研究室では、がん微小環境における線維芽細胞の役割や、オメガ3系脂肪酸の抗がん作用、特にSIRT1経路を介した炎症制御や細胞死の調節に注目した研究を進めています。特に子宮頸がんの発がんメカニズム解明を目的に、変換帯の上皮組織由来オルガノイドを用いた三次元培養モデルの構築や、高リスク型ヒトパピローマウイルス(HPV)感染状態における病態の遷移をマルコフモデルで解析する研究も展開しています。
