Chao Li教授の研究室は、主に環境・健康・社会行動の交差分野に注力しており、特に都市環境の土地被覆が人間の wellbeing に与える影響を空間的・統計的アプローチで解明しています。また、子供のスクリーンタイムが発達に与える影響や、大気中の酸素濃度変動と早期動物の進化の関係についても、大規模データと定量的分析を用いた研究を展開しています。近年では、大気汚染(PM2.5)と交通インフラの関係や、収入の非線形的影響が精神的健康に与える影響についても、因果推論的手法を駆使した分析が特徴です。

To investigate their causal relationship, the exogenous impact of automation on income is utilized as the instrument variable (IV).
