Professor Dal Woong Choi's research lab specializes in environmental and food safety, with a focus on identifying and assessing chemical hazards in everyday consumer products. The lab investigates volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in indoor air, mineral oil hydrocarbons (MOH) in food contact materials, and condensed phosphates in marine and processed foods, emphasizing their health implications. A key research direction involves developing rapid, selective analytical methods—such as ion chromatography and GC-MS/MS—for detecting food adulterants and toxicants.
