Abe教授の研究室では、脳血管障害に伴う運動機能障害の改善に向け、特に脚部の運動制御と歩行の安定性に焦点を当てたリハビリテーション工学的研究を推進しています。特に、下肢装具(PAFO)が脳卒中後の歩行能力に与える影響を定量的に評価する研究が特徴で、歩行の安定性や歩行速度の向上に寄与する装具の最適設計を追求しています。また、神経可塑性や運動制御のメカニズムの解明にも取り組んでいます。
