Continuous haptic feedback can improve manual control task performance and application methods on steering wheel (haptic steering guidance) have been studied. However, the current haptic steering guidance systems assume there is an average, constant driver's response to force (which can be quantified as the admittance). To improve the performance of haptic steering guidance, the guidance system should be adaptive to the inter and intra-driver variability in admittance. To achieve this we need to
Abstract. Knowledge of past variations in sea-ice extent is crucial for understanding the relationship between climate change and changes in sea ice. Diatom assemblages could be applied as a proxy for paleo-sea-ice extent; this requires accurate information on the modern species that are indicative of sea ice. Scanning electron microscope observations were performed on modern diatom assemblages in sea ice, sinking particles, and surface sediments in the Sea of Okhotsk. A sea-ice sample was colle
This paper investigates the dynamics of FDIs in the Baltic Sea Region (BSR) by applying the Poisson Pseudo-Maximum Likelihood estimation method on a gravity model. In particular, we analyze the influence of macro and spatial factors on investment stock changes and discuss whether the origin of these investments and the 2004 EU enlargement have had any effects on BSR FDIs.Our results suggest that EU enlargement has been significant for FDI activity in the region, and that FDI is basically a regio
