Professor Ho Yeong Lim's research lab specializes in gastrointestinal oncology, with a primary focus on the molecular mechanisms underlying gastric carcinogenesis. The lab investigates the role of inflammatory mediators, particularly cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), in the development and progression of gastric adenocarcinoma. Utilizing immunohistochemical and molecular biological approaches, the lab explores potential chemopreventive strategies targeting COX-2 and related signaling pathways. Current research also extends to understanding the tumor microenvironment and identifying biomarkers for early detection and therapeutic intervention.

Gastric adenocarcinoma is one of the most common malignancies in the world, and yet little is known about its molecular process of development and progression.
