Professor Hyun-Chul Kim's research lab specializes in the design and synthesis of metal-organic frameworks and coordination polymers, with a focus on transition metal-based materials featuring tunable structures and functionalities. The lab investigates the structural diversity and topological features of coordination polymers using various organic ligands, such as bipyridyl derivatives, to construct 2D and 3D frameworks with controlled porosity and magnetic properties. Their work also explores the influence of ligand geometry and metal coordination environments on the formation of interpenetrated or non-interpenetrated networks, contributing to materials with potential applications in catalysis, gas adsorption, and magnetic materials. The lab employs X-ray crystallography and other analytical techniques to elucidate the precise atomic-level structures of these materials.

Magnetic nanoparticle-conjugated polymeric micelles (MNP-PMs) consisting of poly(ethylene glycol)-poly(lactide) (PEG-PLA) and iron oxide nanoparticles were prepared and used as nanocarriers for combined hyperthermia and chemotherapy. Doxorubicin (DOX) was encapsulated in MNP-PMs, and an alternating magnetic field (AMF) resulted in an increase to temperature within a suitable range for inducing hyperthermia and a higher rate of drug release than observed without AMF. In vitro cytotoxicity and hyp
The nucleon form factors of the energy–momentum tensor are studied in nuclear medium in the framework of the in-medium modified Skyrme model. We obtain a negative D-term, in agreement with results from other approaches, and find that medium effects make the value of d1 more negative.
We employ the chiral quark-soliton model to describe excited baryons with one heavy quark. Identifying known charmed baryons with multiplets allowed by the model, we argue that apart from regular excitations of the ground-state multiplets, two out of five narrow ${\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Omega}}}_{c}^{0}$ states, recently reported by the LHCb Collaboration, may correspond to the exotic pentaquarks. This interpretation can be easily verified experimentally, since exotic ${\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Omega}
Among male and female South Korean elite wrestling athletes training for the Olympic Games, most injuries were mild and occurred in the lower extremities. Weight class influenced injury severity in both wrestling styles, and lightweight athletes had higher injury rates.
The electromagnetic form factors of the SU(3) octet baryons are investigated in the semibosonized SU(3) Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model (chiral quark-soliton model). The rotational 1/${\mathit{N}}_{\mathit{c}}$ and strange quark mass corrections in linear order are taken into account. The electromagnetic charge radii of the nucleon and magnetic moments are also evaluated. It turns out that the model is in remarkably good agreement with the experimental data. \textcopyright{} 1996 The American Physical
