Professor Hyun Ho Han's research lab focuses on translational cancer biology, particularly in prostate and breast cancers, with an emphasis on understanding tumor heterogeneity, therapy resistance, and metastatic progression. The lab integrates multi-omics approaches—including genomics, transcriptomics, and bioinformatics—across patient-derived models such as PDXs, organoids, and cell lines to identify intrinsic subtypes and molecular drivers of disease evolution. A key research direction involves investigating lineage plasticity in castration-resistant prostate cancer and the role of the tumor microenvironment, especially the bone marrow vascular niche, in maintaining or awakening dormant tumor cells in breast cancer. The lab also explores clinical implications, such as biomarker development (e.g., PSA/PAP ratio) and personalized treatment strategies.
