Professor Jeong Ho Park's research lab focuses on translational biomedical research with a strong emphasis on infectious disease immunology and neuroimmunological disorders. The lab investigates innovative vaccination strategies, particularly in ovo prime-boost immunization against avian pathogens like infectious bursal disease virus, while exploring host immune modulators such as chicken cytokines as adjuvants. In parallel, the lab explores rare neuroimmunological conditions such as neuro-Behçet’s disease, emphasizing clinical phenotypes, diagnostic challenges, and treatment responses. The integration of clinical case studies with immunological and virological research highlights the lab’s commitment to improving health outcomes in both veterinary and human medicine.

The aim of this study was to examine the efficacy of in ovo prime-boost vaccination against infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV) using a DNA vaccine to prime in ovo followed by a killed-vaccine boost post hatching. We report a rare case of neuro-Behcet's disease (NBD) presenting as an inflammatory pseudotumor in the brain. A 52-year-old woman was evaluated for subacute dizziness and headache. Brain magnetic resonance (MR) imaging showed a right cerebellar mass, which disappeared 2 weeks later. After a year, recurrent mucocutaneous manifestations of Beh et's disease were observed.
