Maruyama教授の研究室では、糸状菌、特にコウジ菌(アスペルギルス・オリゼー)をモデル生物として、細胞小器官の機能とタンパク質輸送、特にペルオキシソームと核の動態に注目した研究を進めています。特に、ペルオキシソームのタンパク質標識と輸送機構、核の分配と胞子形成のメカニズム、ならびに異種タンパク質の効率的生産を可能にする遺伝子工学的基盤の構築を目的としています。これらの研究は、合成生物学やバイオプロセス開発への応用も視野に入れた、基礎と応用の両面をカバーする包括的な研究です。
