Kazuyuki Doi教授の研究室は、稲の花床形成や生育期間の遺伝的制御を解明するため、光周期反応に関与する遺伝子ネットワークやQTL解析を軸に、特に日本型稲(Oryza sativa ssp. japonica)とアフリカ米(Oryza glaberrima)を用いた遺伝資源の構築と、マーカー支援選抜を活用した集団育種戦略の開発を進めています。特に、花床形成に関与するEhd1やHd1といった遺伝子の機能解明や、NAM(ネステッドアソシエーションマッピング)集団を用いた多様性解析により、環境適応性や収量関連性の遺伝的基盤を解明しています。また、SNPマッピングやGBS技術を応用した高効率な遺伝子型決定手法の開発も並行して行っています。
