Kenta Nakai教授の研究室は、ゲノム情報の解釈と機能予測を柱としたバイオインフォマティクス研究を展開しています。特に、転写開始部位の精確なマップ作成や、遺伝子発現調節領域の変異解析を目的としたDBTSS・DBKEROデータベースの構築・拡張が特徴です。また、アミノ酸の物理化学的性質やタンパク質のサブセルラーオルガネルへの局在予測に関する理論的・実験的基盤の構築にも貢献しています。これらの研究は、がんや動脈硬化などの疾患における遺伝子調節異常の解明に応用されています。

Microangioarchitecture of the rat parietal cortex was studied by means of scanning electron microscopy and dark field microscopy. The richest supply of blood vessels in the parietal cortex was found in layer III + IV and layer V, where 2 isolated plexuses of microvessels were prominent.
