Kiminori Nakamura教授の研究室は、腸管の先天的免疫と腸内微生物叢の恒常性を制御するメカニズムに注目し、特にパネス細胞が分泌するαデフェンシンという抗菌ペプチドの機能とその調節機構を解明しています。特に、睡眠不足や生活習慣が腸内細菌叢に与える影響を、HD5の分泌調節という観点から解析しており、腸-脳軸や代謝疾患の予防に寄与する可能性を追求しています。
