Efficient methods for loading given classical data into quantum circuits are essential for various quantum algorithms. In this paper, we propose an algorithm called Approximate Amplitude Encoding that can effectively load all the components of a given real-valued data vector into the amplitude of quantum state, while the previous proposal can load only the absolute values of those components. The key of our algorithm is to variationally train a shallow parameterized quantum circuit, using the re
Hamiltonian simulation is known to be one of the fundamental building blocks of a variety of quantum algorithms such as its most immediate application, that of simulating many-body systems to extract their physical properties. In this work, we present qSWIFT, a high-order randomized algorithm for Hamiltonian simulation. In qSWIFT, the required number of gates for a given precision is independent of the number of terms in the Hamiltonian, while the systematic error is exponentially reduced with r
Simulating large quantum systems is the ultimate goal of quantum computing. Variational quantum simulation (VQS) gives us a tool to achieve the goal in near-term devices by distributing the computation load to both classical and quantum computers. However, as the size of the quantum system becomes large, the execution of VQS becomes more and more challenging. One of the most severe challenges is the drastic increase in the number of measurements; for example, the number of measurements tends to
In this paper, we propose the quantum semi-supervised generative adversarial network (qSGAN). The system is composed of a quantum generator and a classical discriminator/classifier (D/C). The goal is to train both the generator and the D/C, so that the latter may get a high classification accuracy for a given dataset. Hence the qSGAN needs neither any data loading nor to generate a pure quantum state, implying that qSGAN is much easier to implement than many existing quantum algorithms. Also the
In this paper, we introduce an efficient algorithm for the quantum amplitude estimation task which is tailored for near-term quantum computers. The quantum amplitude estimation is an important problem which has various applications in fields such as quantum chemistry, machine learning, and finance. Because the well-known algorithm for the quantum amplitude estimation using the phase estimation does not work in near-term quantum computers, alternative approaches have been proposed in recent liter
We introduce the generative quantum eigensolver (GQE), a new quantum computational framework that operates outside the variational quantum algorithm paradigm by applying classical generative models to quantum simulation. The GQE algorithm optimizes a classical generative model to produce quantum circuits with desired properties. Here, we develop a transformer-based implementation, which we name the generative pre-trained transformer-based (GPT) quantum eigensolver (GPT-QE). We show a proof-of-co
Abstract Recently, quantum neural networks or quantum–classical neural networks (qcNN) have been actively studied, as a possible alternative to the conventional classical neural network (cNN), but their practical and theoretically-guaranteed performance is still to be investigated. Quantum machine learning (QML) is the spearhead of quantum computer applications. In particular, quantum neural networks (QNN) are actively studied as the method that works both in near-term quantum computers and fault-tolerant quantum computers. Recent studies have shown that supervised machine learning with QNN can be interpreted as the quantum kernel method (QKM), suggesting that enhancing the practicality of the QKM is the key to building near-term applications of QML. However, the QKM is al
Abstract Quantum machine learning with variational quantum algorithms (VQA) has been actively investigated as a practical algorithm in the noisy intermediate-scale quantum (NISQ) era. Recent researches reveal that the data reuploading, which repeatedly encode classical data into quantum circuit, is necessary for obtaining the expressive quantum machine learning model in the conventional quantum computing architecture. However, the data reuploading tends to require a large amount of quantum resou

We introduce the "quantum circuit daemon" (QC-Daemon), a reinforcement learning agent for compiling quantum device operations aimed at efficient quantum hardware execution. We apply QC-Daemon to the move synthesis problem called the Atom Game, which involves orchestrating parallel circuits on reconfigurable neutral atom arrays. In our numerical simulation, the QC-Daemon is implemented by two different types of transformers with a physically motivated architecture and trained by a reinforcement l
