Professor Kyo Chul Koo's research lab focuses on translational oncology and urological malignancies, with a strong emphasis on prostate cancer and renal cell carcinoma. The lab investigates molecular mechanisms underlying cancer progression, particularly the role of metabolic regulators like LKB1/AMPK and mTOR pathways, and explores repurposed drugs such as metformin for anti-cancer therapy. Additionally, the lab is actively engaged in improving urological interventional procedures, including optimizing ureteroscopy techniques to reduce surgical complications.
