Professor Kyong-Mee Chung's research lab specializes in mental health technology and behavioral intervention, focusing on developing digital tools—such as mobile apps and digital phenotyping systems—for early detection and management of depression, anxiety, and related psychological conditions. The lab integrates clinical psychology with mobile health (mHealth) technologies, leveraging smartphone-based data collection and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) interventions to support vulnerable populations, including cancer patients and adolescents. A key focus is on creating validated, culturally adapted assessment tools and databases, such as the Yonsei Face Database and the Korean-Parental Overprotection Scale, to support psychological research and clinical applications.

The purposes of this study were to develop the Yonsei Face Database (YFace DB), consisting of both static and dynamic face stimuli for six basic emotions (happiness, sadness, anger, surprise, fear, and disgust), and to test its validity. 본 연구에서는 한국 부모의 자녀에 대한 과보호적 양육태도를 측정할 수 있는 척도(Korean- Parental Overprotection Scale; K-POS)를 개발하고 타당화하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 연구 1에서는 다양한 포커스 그룹 인터뷰를 통하여 한국 과보호 양육태도의 특성을 파악하고 86문항을 작성하여 교육전문가에게 내용타당도를 검증받았다. 또한 만 15-17세의 학생(N=331)을 대상으로 1차 탐색적 요인분석을 시행하여 5개의 잠재 하위요인을 추출, 문항을 수정하여 33문항의 과보호 예비척도를 제작하였다. 연구 2에서는 서울 소재의 6개 고등학교의 학생들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 2차 탐색적 요인분석을 시행한 결과(N= 458), 최종적으로 한국 과보호특성이 4요인 구조를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 하위요인들은 성취지향, 체면문화, 통제, 동일시로 명명되었으며 문항변별도 확인 후, 각각 4문항, 4문항, 4문항, 3문항으로 총 15문항이 도출되었다. 추가적인
