Mariko Kawamura教授の研究室は、がん治療における画像診断と治療戦略の最適化を柱としています。特に、乳房がんの治療において、術前 chemotherapy の早期予測や、IORT（術中放射線治療）の有効性・安全性の検証を進めています。また、神経変性疾患に関連するグリアリンパ系の機能評価や、H. pylori感染が循環器疾患に与える影響についても、病態メカニズムの解明を目的としています。

The concept of the glymphatic system was proposed more than a decade ago as a mechanism for interstitial fluid flow and waste removal in the central nervous system. The first group of female Asian patients tolerated the treatment with IORT in this Phase I/II study and remained recurrence-free for more than 5 years after treatment. Neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) is the favored treatment of choice among locally advanced breast cancer patients because it significantly increases the possibility of breast-conserving surgery. Our results suggest that the application of an SCCC regimen such as EP or IP as first-line chemotherapy for patients with locally advanced SCCC may play a key role in OS. These findings need to be validated in future nationwide, prospective clinical studies.
