ナカムラ教授の研究室では、消化管内視鏡の高度化と画像診断技術の革新を柱に、小腸出血の早期発見と的確な治療に貢献する診断・治療法の確立をめざしています。特に、画像ガイドド型内視鏡（CE・DBE）の連携や、画像による腸管通過性評価（タグレスPC）の応用が主な研究テーマです。臨床応用に即した技術開発と、患者の安全を最優先にした診断プロトコルの構築が進められています。

In many suspected small-bowel bleeding cases, CE should be selected for the initial diagnosis and DBE for treatment or histopathological diagnosis after detection of the bleeding site on CE.
Use of the tag-less PC confirmed gastrointestinal tract patency for most of the patients who did not have stenosis on imaging and allowed estimation of the patency for patients who did have stenosis on imaging.
