Nishimoto教授の研究室では、ステンレス鋼の局所腐食、特にピット腐食の発生機構に注目し、インクルージョン(希土類硫化物やマンガン硫化物など)と鋼基体の界面における電気化学的挙動をマイクロスケールで解明しています。MoやCrの添加がインクルージョンの溶解挙動や表面酸化被膜に与える影響を、電極分極測定やエーレル電子分光法を用いて定量的に評価しています。また、スパークプラズマ焼結を用いた模型材料の作製と、マイクロ電気化学測定を組み合わせた新規な実験手法の開発も進んでいます。

The role of Mo alloying in the pit initiation process at MnS inclusions in stainless steels was investigated by measuring polarization curves, depassivation pH, and scanning electron microscopy. A sensing plate for the simultaneous measurements of pH and Cl− concentration was fabricated. Terbium–dipicolinic acid complex (Tb–DPA) and quinine sulphate were used to measure the pH and Cl− concentration, respectively. We report herein the case of a 78-year-old man found to have abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) with an isolated left-sided inferior vena cava (IVC). The patient was admitted to our hospital to undergo surgery for the AAA. We described the severity of skin lesions and detected peripheral eosinophil counts (Eos) and serum eosinophil cationic protein levels (s-ECP) in 81 patients with atopic dermatitis (male 33, female 48, age 20.7 +/- 8.8) at the first consultation.
