阿部井正之教授の研究室は、びまん性びらん性疾患であるびまん性びらん性疾患(パームフィギス)の自己免疫反応の分子メカニズムを解明することを主眼としています。特に、デスモグリチンやデスモコリンを含む細胞接着分子を標的とする自己抗体の病原性機構を、再組換えタンパク質やトランスジェニックマウスモデルを用いて解析しています。また、副腫瘍性パームフィギスや線維化性疾患との関連性についても、自己抗原の同定と病態解明を進めています。
