Professor Min Joo Kim's research lab focuses on environmental toxicology and endocrine disruption, with a particular emphasis on the impact of persistent organic pollutants—such as PFASs and BPA—on thyroid hormone function and endocrine homeostasis. The lab investigates the mechanistic links between environmental chemical exposure and endocrine-related diseases, including thyroid disorders and cancer, using integrative approaches combining human epidemiological studies, in vitro and in vivo models, and bioinformatics analyses. A key research direction involves understanding the role of immune-modulating molecules like CXCL16 in thyroid cancer progression and tumor microenvironment remodeling. The lab also explores adverse effects of therapeutic agents, such as rituximab-induced vasculitis, highlighting its translational relevance in clinical toxicology and immunology.

Rituximab is an anti-CD20 chimeric murine/human monoclonal antibody mainly used in the treatment of patients with a cutaneous lymphoid malignancy.
