Professor Mina Park's research lab specializes in clinical and translational neuroimaging, with a focus on advanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques for early detection and differentiation of neurological disorders. The lab investigates structural and microstructural brain changes in aging, dementia, and intracranial pathologies such as pituitary adenomas and Rathke cleft cysts using high-field MRI, diffusion tensor imaging, and dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI. A key research direction involves exploring the role of the glymphatic and dural lymphatic systems in aging and neurodegeneration. The lab also examines emerging applications of AI and chatbot technologies in human-computer interaction, particularly in educational and clinical contexts.

Rice has the unique ability to express alpha-amylase under anoxic conditions, a feature that is critical for successful anaerobic germination and growth. We found that the peri-sinus dural lymphatic space volume was higher in the elderly group than in the non-elderly group, and the increased peri-sinus lymphatic space was independently associated with aging. These findings indicate that the peri-sinus lymphatic space may be related with the aging process and lymphatic system dysfunction as well.
