内山実人教授の研究室では、金属を用いない制御性の高い陽性イオン性連鎖移動重合(RAFT重合)を基盤とし、特にエーテルやアルコキシスチレン系モノマーを対象とした高分子の精密合成を展開しています。特に、トリフリル酸を触媒として用いることで、分子量制御性に優れ、多分散比が1.1未満の狭い分子量分布を実現。さらに、ブロックコポリマーの合成や、主鎖に加水分解性を有するチオアセタール結合を導入した生分解性ポリマーの開発にも成功しています。
