Ueda教授の研究室では、再生医療を柱に、骨再生に寄与する間葉系stromal細胞(MSCs)の機能とその賦活化メカニズムを解明しています。特に、β-トロイダイトカルシウムホスファート(β-TCP)を含む新規バイオマテリアルを用いた幹細胞の骨形成能の評価を進め、臨床応用に向けたインプラント設計の最適化をめざしています。

Bone marrow has been shown to contain a population of rare cells capable of differentiating to the cells that form various tissues.
