Professor Mücahit Aydın's research lab focuses on the intersection of environmental sustainability, technological innovation, and economic policy, with a strong emphasis on climate change mitigation, clean energy transitions, and the environmental impacts of emerging technologies. The lab investigates key drivers of ecological sustainability, including green innovation, technological diffusion, nanotechnology, and environmental policy frameworks such as the Kyoto Protocol and the EU’s carbon neutrality goals. Research spans empirical analyses using advanced econometric methods—such as panel cointegration and frequency domain causality—across countries and regions, particularly in the European Union and G7 nations. The lab also examines the health and environmental consequences of pollution, including plastic waste and microplastics, linking them to public health outcomes and policy effectiveness.
