Naoki Suzuki教授の研究室は、神経変性疾患、特に筋萎縮や筋ジストロフィーに伴う筋委縮の分子メカニズムを解明することを目的としています。特に、転写因子Foxoの活性制御やDGC(ジストロフィングリコタンパク質複合体)の機能、ならびに筋細胞における酸化ストレスや一酸化窒素の役割に注目し、筋萎縮の早期発症メカニズムを分子レベルで解明しています。また、筋委縮に伴う酵素活性の変化や神経筋接合部の障害、神経変性疾患におけるタンパク質蓄積のメカニズムについても、臨床的意義を踏まえた基礎研究を推進しています。
