本研究室では、関節リモデリングや再生医療を柱として、特に靭帯・半月板の修復・再生に注力しています。特に、傷跡形成に伴う機械的特性の低下を改善するためのコラーゲン線維の再形成や、間葉系幹細胞(MSC)を用いた関節炎治療の最適化を追求しています。また、iPSC由来神経crest由来細胞を介した骨軟骨再生細胞の創出や、ヒト血清を用いた幹細胞の培養最適化についても革新的な研究を進めています。
