Interfacial photo-vapor conversion has been suggested as a cost-effective and sustainable technology for seawater desalination. However, the conversion performance was still limited by some drawbacks, like salt accumulation and poor mechanical stability. Herein, a scalable MoS2 -based porous hydrogel (SMoS2 -PH) with good mechanical stability and salt resistance was successfully constructed through a crosslinking foaming polymerization method. With the high porosity (92.63
Microbially influenced corrosion (MIC) is a formidable challenge in the marine industry, resulting from intricate interactions among various biochemical reactions and microbial species. Many preventions used to mitigate biocorrosion fail due to ignorance of the MIC mechanisms. This review provides a summary of the current research on microbial corrosion in marine environments, including corrosive microbes and biocorrosion mechanisms. We also summarized current strategies for inhibiting MIC and p
Abstract Localized corrosion triggered by inclusions is prone to metallic material failure. Except for chemical dissolution of some special inclusions, the principle of galvanic coupling is the most acceptable theory to explain the above corrosion damage mechanism over the past decades. Still, controversies continue to present, in particular, mounting recent evidence obtained by advanced technologies emphasizes the limitations of previous entrenched idea and discloses unexpected results. Here, w
Power modules applied in offshore applications are facing risks of corrosion failures on die-attach materials due to high humidity and H2S exposure. To investigate such corrosion behavior for sintered die-attach materials, we conducted a study with four groups of samples fabricated using copper and silver metal particles under different solvent systems. Such samples were firstly subjected to high-humidity-H2S conditions for 168 hours to simulate the harsh offshore environment. After undergoing c
Magnesium oxychloride cement (abbreviated as MOC) was prepared using magnesium residue obtained from Li2CO3 extraction from salt lakes as raw material instead of light magnesium oxide. The properties of magnesium residue calcined at different temperatures were researched by XRD, SEM, LSPA, and SNAA. The preparation of MOC specimens with magnesium residue at different calcination temperatures (from 500 °C to 800 °C) and magnesium chloride solutions with different Baume degre
Abstract According to the deformation characteristics of the microalloyed forging steels used in automobiles, the austenite dynamic recrystallization of microalloyed forging steels 38MnVS was investigated by thermal simulation test enginery Gleeble-3800 with the stain rate of 0.1-10 s-1 at 950-1150.The effects of the deformation temperature and rate on the austenite dynamic recrystallization were investigated. The austenite dynamic recrystallization's activation energy was calculated. A mathemat
Crevice corrosion (CC) behavior of 201 stainless steel (SS) in 1 M NaCl + x M HCl/y M NaOH solutions with various pH was investigated using SECM and optical microscopic observations. Results show that the CC was initiated by the decrease in pH value within the crevice. The pH value near the crevice mouth falls rapidly to 1.38 in the first 2 h in the strongly acidic solution, while the pH value was observed to rise firstly and then decrease in the neutral and alkaline solutions. It indicates ther
