Ryo Tazaki教授の研究室では、原始惑星系円盤におけるダスト粒子の形成・成長・偏光特性に注目し、特に非球形で多孔質なダストアグレートの光散乱・偏光挙動を高精度な数値計算(T-matrix法など)を用いて解明しています。主に近赤外波長域の偏光観測と理論モデルの対比から、原始惑星系円盤内でのダストの物理的性質(モノマーの大きさ、構造、密度)を制約する研究を推進しています。また、放射トルク理論に基づくアグレートの整列機構や、フラクタル構造を持つダストの断面積の解析も行い、惑星形成の初期段階を理解するための理論的基盤を構築しています。
