Some patients who recover from coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have prolonged symptoms such as dyspnea, fatigue, cough, and dysosmia for longer than 120 days after symptom onset. In addition, some patients who recovered from COVID-19 reported hair loss a few months after the onset of the disease. Alopecia is a late-onset symptom of COVID-19. The cause of alopecia is unknown; however, androgenic alopecia and telogen effluvium are possible causes.
More than one-fourth of patients after recovery from COVID-19, most of whom had had mild disease in the acute phase, had at least one symptom at 6, 12, 18, and 24 months after onset of COVID-19, indicating that not a few patients with COVID-19 suffer from long-term residual symptoms, even in mild cases.
We present a parametrization of the $\ensuremath{\pi}\ensuremath{-}N$ interaction in the ${P}_{11}$ channel in which the amplitude is the sum of a pole part and a non-pole part ($t={t}_{\mathrm{pole}}+{t}_{\mathrm{np}}$) and satisfies two-body unitarity. Here ${t}_{\mathrm{pole}}$ has both the nucleon propagator and the $\ensuremath{\pi}\mathrm{NN}$ vertex dressed. The final amplitude fits the scattering length and low energy $\ensuremath{\pi}\ensuremath{-}N$ phase shifts (${T}_{\ensuremath{\pi}
We validated that the median TTP in CoNS bacteraemia group was significantly shorter than that in their contamination group, and that a TTP of ≤16 h was associated with CoNS bacteraemia, while that of >20 h was associated with CoNS contamination, if evaluated with an objective, non-judgmental definition for CoNS contamination.
Early tecovirimat administration might reduce viral shedding duration, thereby mitigating infection spread. Moreover, patients infected with HIV showed prolonged viral shedding, increasing the transmission risk compared to those without HIV.
We present a critical comparison for two types of three-dimensional covariant equations for the three-particle system obtained by the Blankenbecler-Sugar reduction technique with the Wightman-G\aa{}rding momenta and the usual Jacobi variables. We also discuss the relations between the relativistic and nonrelativistic equations in the low-energy limit.NUCLEAR REACTIONS Relativistic Faddeev equations, Blankenbecler-Sugar reduction technique, nonrelativistic limit.
Abstract Background Long COVID has been a social concern. Though patient characteristics associated with developing long COVID are partially known, those associated with persisting it have not been identified. Methods We conducted a cross-sectional questionnaire survey of patients after COVID-19 recovery who visited the National Center for Global Health and Medicine between February 2020 and March 2021. Demographic and clinical data, and the presence and duration of long COVID were obtained. We
Abstract Background No epidemiological data on post coronavirus disease (COVID-19) condition due to Omicron variant has been reported yet. Methods This was as a single-center, cross-sectional study, that interviewed via telephone the patients who recovered from Omicron COVID-19 infection (Omicron group), and surveyed via self-reporting questionnaire those patients infected with other strains (control group). Data on patients’ characteristics, information regarding the acute-phase COVID-19, as we
