This study documented a high incidence of subclinical CT changes in cases with COVID-19. Compared with symptomatic cases, asymptomatic cases showed more GGO over consolidation and milder extension of disease on CT.An earlier incorrect version appeared online. Rapamycin is an immunosuppressant that effectively controls various immune responses; however, its action in the signal transduction of lymphocytes has remained largely unknown. We show here that a phosphoprotein encoded by mouse alpha4 (malpha4) gene transmitting a signal through B-cell antigen receptor (BCR) is associated with the catalytic subunit of protein phosphatase 2A (PP2Ac). The middle region of alph4, consisting of 109 amino acids (94-202), associates directly with PP2Ac, irrespective
We have shown previously that a 52-kDa phosphoprotein (p52) co-precipitated with Ig receptor (IgR)-associated MB-1 protein was inducibly phosphorylated by the stimulation with 12-O-tetradecanoyl-phorbol-13-acetate. By immunizing the 52-kDa protein co-precipitated with MB-1, we prepared a mAb (19-14), which can immunoprecipitate the p52 and the associated kinase molecule. Immune complex kinase assay with the 19-14 mAb showed that the p52 is associated with a novel kinase molecule and is involved
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has posed a major public health crisis all over the world. The role of chest imaging, especially computed tomography (CT), has evolved during the pandemic paralleling the accumulation of scientific evidence. In the early stage of the pandemic, the performance of chest imaging for COVID-19 has widely been debated especially in the context of comparison to real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction. Current evidence is against the use of
CO-RADS, COVID-RADS, the RSNA statement and the BSTI statement provided reasonable performances and interobserver agreements in reporting CT findings of COVID-19.
Pneumonia progression of Delta variant may be more rapid and severe in the early stage than in the other two.
Background Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) may severely impair pulmonary function and cause hypoxia. However, the association of COVID-19 pneumonia on CT with impaired ventilation remains unexplained. This pilot study aims to demonstrate the relationship between the radiological findings on COVID-19 CT images and ventilation abnormalities simulated in a computational model linked to the patients’ symptoms. Methods Twenty-five patients with COVID-19 and four test-negative healthy controls who
Although systematic difference was noted in regional brain volume measured from L3DFLASH and MPRAGE, AD-related atrophic pattern was preserved in L3DFLASH on VBM. VBM, using speedily acquired localizer image, may provide limited but useful information for evaluating brain atrophy.
We combined two armatures in a linear motor that generated thrust in one direction; this combination was made possible by the use of a right angle. Since the motor was designed as an X-Y linear motor, we used a permanent magnet in the mover in order to obtain a comparatively high thrust, and carried out research with the aim of realizing an X-Y linear synchronous motor (X-Y LSM). The most suitable conditions for obtaining the maximum possible static thrust were found by measurement and analysis,
