Sasaki教授の研究室は、感染症の病原体同定・制御を目的とした分子生物学的・臨床的アプローチを柱としています。特に、メトロニダゾール耐性を示す腸内細菌やCTX-M産生エシュェリチャ・ア属の健康者における広範な拡散を解明しており、抗菌薬耐性の社会的・臨床的影響を解明しています。また、SARS-CoV-2の変異株に対する中和抗体の効果や、感染性ウイルスの定量的評価法の開発、インフルエンザ・デングー熱の迅速診断技術の向上にも取り組んでいます。
