Professor Tae Hui Kim's research lab specializes in digital mental health interventions and neuropsychological assessment, with a focus on developing and evaluating brief, reliable, and culturally adapted tools for screening cognitive and mental health conditions in older adults. The lab investigates the efficacy of internet-based psychological therapies—such as iACT and iBA—across diverse populations, particularly in addressing depression, anxiety, and quality of life. A key research direction involves validating clinical instruments like the SMMSE-DS and FAB-K for use in diverse geriatric populations with varying educational backgrounds.
Figures are computed from collected data and may differ slightly.
The SMMSE-DS was found to be accurate, brief and portable instrument for screening dementia in Korean elders, and may be particularly useful for screening dementia in elderly populations with wide variation in educational levels.
The FAB-K is a valid and reliable instrument for evaluating frontal dysfunction, and may be useful for screening AD.
The findings of this study contribute to the body of evidence regarding the effects of iACT on depressive symptoms, anxiety, stress, psychological distress, and QoL and may be applicable in any population, as ACT is a transdiagnostic approach. Few studies have compared iACT with active control conditions, especially for stress and psychological distress at the immediate posttest and follow-up. In addition, the active control conditions varied among the included studies. Further high-quality stud
Further high-quality studies are needed to verify the effects of iBA on varied health outcomes and BA process measures for individuals with depressive symptoms.
