Takafumi Kubota教授の研究室は、感染症に伴う神経・精神症状の病態解明を柱としており、特にコロナウイルス感染に続発する長期間にわたる神経精神症状(ロングコロナ)や、ワクチン接種に続発する自己免疫性神経疾患のメカニズムを、臨床的・神経免疫学的視点から解明しています。近年の報告では、オクルモーター神経麻痺やクロニクスインflammatory脱髄性多発神経炎(CIDP)など、稀な神経障害の例を世界的に初報告しており、神経免疫疾患の診断と治療の国際的基準形成にも貢献しています。
