Takahisa Yamamoto教授の研究室では、カーボナイト系硬質合金の微細構造と界面挙動に注目し、VCドーピングがWC/Co界面の形状発達に与える影響を高分解能電子顕微鏡とEDS分析を用いて解明しています。特に、固体状態での界面フェーシング構造の形成機構や、ナノスケールでの界面エネルギーの制御が、材料の力学的・耐熱的特性に与える影響を追求しています。

Microstructure evolution in VC-doped WC–Co was investigated using high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) associated with X-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) with a special interest in WC/Co and WC/WC boundaries. It was found that the morphology of carbide grains changed largely by the addition of VC. The WC/Co interfaces tend to form facetting with fine multi-steps of (0001) and {} habits by VC-doping.
