石尾武彦教授の研究室は、ゲノム生物学と進化ゲノミクスを柱に、ヒトとチンパンジーをはじめとする霊長類のゲノム比較を通じて、人間特有の遺伝的特徴の解明を進めています。また、発酵酵母の系統的・遺伝的起源の解明にも注力しており、特にラージャービール酵母の進化歴を次世代シーケンシングを用いて解明しています。これらの研究を通じて、ゲノムの構造的多様性とその進化的意義を解き明かすことを目指しています。
