Takehiro Torisu教授の研究室は、炎症と代謝疾患の関連、特にインスリン抵抗性や自己免疫疾患におけるシグナル伝達分子の役割を解明することを主眼としています。特にSOCS3やSOCS1の機能が肝臓や免疫系においてどのように代謝制御や炎症反応に寄与するかを、遺伝子ノックアウトモデルやメタゲノム解析を用いて研究しています。また、消化管疾患（炎症性腸疾患、MALTリンパ腫など）における腸管微生物叢の役割や、AIを活用した内視鏡画像診断支援技術の開発にも取り組んでいます。

Inflammation associates with insulin resistance, which dysregulates nutrient homeostasis and leads to diabetes.
