Yamamoto教授の研究室は、代謝疾患に伴う臓器障害、特に腎臓におけるリポトキシシシティ(脂肪酸による細胞障害)の細胞内メカニズムを解明することを主眼としています。特に、リソソーム機能障害とオートファジーの不全が腎細胞に与える影響を、マウスモデルや培養細胞を用いて解析しています。また、オートファジーの制御因子(例:TFEB)や栄養的介入(EPA補給)による治療的アプローチの可能性についても探求しています。
