Hayashi教授の研究室は、神経画像法を用いた脳の構造・機能・回路の解明を柱とし、特にfMRIやdMRIを活用した脳の微細構造と機能的可塑性の関係を解明しています。ターゲットとなる疾患としてニコチン依存症やパーキンソン病に注目し、神経刺激法(TMS)や幹細胞治療の神経生物学的基盤を非侵襲的画像技術で解明しています。また、ヒトの脳構造と非ヒト霊長類の神経生物学的類似性を比較することで、臨床応用に向けた基盤を構築しています。
