本田哲也教授の研究室では、炎症性疾患におけるリピッドメディエーターの機能と免疫調節機構を解明することを主眼としています。特にプロスタグリン系のリガンド(PGI2、PGE2)やリゾルビンE1、ロイコトリエンB4といった発炎・消炎作用を示す脂質メディエーターが、自己免疫疾患や皮膚炎における免疫応答に果たす役割を、マウスモデルを用いた分子・細胞生物学的手法で解明しています。また、好酸球やマストサイト、樹状細胞といった免疫細胞の機能とその調節機構についても、遺伝子操作マウスを用いた精密な解析を進めています。
