Wei Gao教授の研究室では、インダストリアルコントロールシステム(ICS)のセキュリティを強化するためのサイバー攻撃のメカニズムとその検出手法を研究しています。特に、MODBUSやDNP3などの制御プロトコルにおける認証欠如に起因するコマンドインジェクションやDoS攻撃の実装と、それらを検知するインラインセンシング型侵入検知システムの開発を進めています。また、高周波成分を含む精密な表面形状測定技術の開発も併行して行っています。

Such attacks can lead to an inability to monitor and control industrial control systems and can ultimately lead to system failure. This can result in financial loss for control system operators and economic and safety issues for the citizens who use these services.
