周西林教授の研究室は、都市環境と公衆衛生の交差点に焦点を当て、都市の洪水管理や熱ストレス、高血圧の都市的要因を統合的に分析しています。特に中国のスponge city(吸水都市)政策の実効性や、都市ヒートアイランド効果が人々の健康に与える影響を、気候変動に配慮した都市計画の視点から研究しています。また、都市空間における快適性と健康の関連性を、実測データとアンケート調査を組み合わせた多角的アプローチで解明しています。
