阿部義夫教授の研究室は、腸管免疫調節や炎症性腸疾患(IBD)の病態解明を柱としており、特にDSS誘導性コリトスのメカニズムと、腸内細菌叢・短鎖脂肪酸の役割に注目した研究を展開しています。マスターセルの機能や腸上皮細胞の応答、ならびにキチン・ペプチドグリカン代謝酵素の特性解明など、多角的なアプローチで消化管免疫の恒常性を解明しています。
