Yamamoto教授の研究室は、高齢者の健康行動とその心理的・社会的要因に注目し、睡眠障害や抑うつ症状が転倒リスクに与える影響を長期間にわたり解明しています。また、透析患者における皮膚症状の心理的要因や、進行情報の早期開始のための患者の意思疎通のあり方についても、文化的・文化的要因を踏まえた研究を展開しています。特に、宗教的信念や心理的ストレスが医療意思決定に与える影響を、日本における文化的背景を踏まえて分析しています。
