本研究室では、慢性炎症性疾患、特に慢性閉塞性肺疾患(COPD)や自己免疫疾患におけるマトリックスメタロプロテアーゼ9(MMP9)の異常な発現メカニズムに注目し、酸化的ストレスとSIRT1の機能低下が炎症反応を促進する分子機構を解明しています。また、亜鉛ホメオスタシスの不全が免疫細胞の機能異常を引き起こすメカニズムや、IgG4関連疾患やEGPAにおける耳鼻科的所見の病態解明も進めています。特に、炎症・老化・自己免疫の交差する分子ネットワークの解明が、新たな治療標的に繋がる可能性を追求しています。

Inappropriate elevation of matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP9) is reported to be involved in the pathogenesis of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
