Kumakoshi教授の研究室は、都市の持続可能性と住民の生活満足度を高めるための都市緑化と交通インフラの最適化を主眼としています。特に、街路レベルの緑化可視性を高精度に評価するための新規指標「標準化GVI(sGVI)」の開発や、共有自動運転車(SAV)が都市の交通・土地利用に与える地域差のある影響を分析しています。また、都市景観の美的質や都市機能の多様性・密度の関係についても、実証的データを基に都市の活性化メタボリズムを解明する研究を進めています。
