三浦豊教授の研究室は、がん治療における標的性薬物送達システムや、バイオメディカル分野における合成生物学的アプローチを柱としています。特に、cRGDペプチドを用いたポリマー微小粒子によるがん細胞への効率的薬物送達や、食品グレードのイーストを用いたカロテノイドのバイオ合成など、医療応用に向けた革新的な材料開発を進めています。また、がん関連タンパク質のスプライシングバリアントや成長因子の遺伝子調節機構の解明にも取り組んでおり、がんの分子メカニズム解明と新薬開発の両面で貢献しています。

Ligand-mediated drug delivery systems have enormous potential for improving the efficacy of cancer treatment. Effects of quantity and quality of dietary proteins on plasma immunoreactive insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) concentration, and content of IGF-1 mRNA in rat liver were investigated in rats.
