Yuya Yoshida教授の研究室は、循環器疾患や自己免疫疾患の発症メカニズムに深く関与する生物リズム(サーカディアンクロック)と、神経免疫調節に関与するリピッドシグナル伝達分子(S1P受容体、FTY720の作用機序)の機能を解明することを主眼としています。特に、腎疾患に伴う心臓障害の炎症・線維化が、時計遺伝子に異常をきたすマウスにおいても軽減されるという意外な現象の解明を通じて、サーカディアンリズムと心血管・自己免疫疾患の関連を解明しています。また、睡眠時ブラキシズムの神経生理学的基盤や、症状チェックの限界についての臨床的検討も行っています。
