鄭浩陳教授の研究室では、半導体量子井戸構造を用いた非線形光学効果、特に準位間遷移による第二高調波発生の実験的評価を主な研究テーマとしています。GaAs/AlGaAs系のステップ量子井戸構造や波ガイド型構造を用いた高効率な光変換技術の開発が進んでおり、特に垂直発光型波ガイド構造での高い変換効率(最大3×10⁻³)の達成が特徴です。また、環境要因と疾患の関連性についても疫学的アプローチを用いた研究も実施しており、重金属の蓄積と糖尿病の関連性の解明を進めています。

Second-harmonic generation due to intersubband transitions in GaAs/AlxGa1−xAs step quantum well structures has been studied with a tunable TEA CO2 laser. The maximum value of χ(2)(2ω) is found to be ∼9×10−7 m/V. Using a multipass or ‘‘waveguide’’ structure, a conversion efficiency of more than 3×10−4 has been obtained.
We report the first experimental evidence of second-harmonic generation due to intersubband transitions in GaAs-Ga1−xAlxAs step multiquantum wells with a waveguiding surface-emitting structure. The second-harmonic generation signal obeys wave vector conservation and propagates perpendicular to the waveguiding surface. As high as 3×10−3 power conversion efficiency has been obtained. The experimental analysis and the severalfold benefit of this novel technique have been given in detail.
Our study elucidated the possible role of TRP family genes in cancer progression and provided insights for further studies on TRP family genes as potential pan-cancer targets to develop diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.
Serum cadmium was negatively associated diabetes among the representative samples of the whole population in the United States under the normal level of serum cadmium exposure. However, there was no association between serum cadmium level and the occurrence of diabetes in the high serum cadmium exposure group. This study promoted an update of new preventative strategy targeting environment for the prevention and control of diabetes in the future.
