Ziheng Wang教授の研究室は、深層学習と統計的推論を融合したアプローチを通じて、顔貌の動的変化や行動認識、医療分野における多オミックスデータ解析、そしてニューラルネットワークの構造的圧縮技術の研究を推進しています。特に、顔の筋肉の空間的・時間的関係や行動単位(AU)間の複雑な関係を効果的にモデル化するための新規な確率的生成モデルや、限られたデータでも効果的に分類器を学習するための隠れ情報の活用法を開発しています。また、医療分野への応用として、高齢者の筋萎縮(サルコペニア)の予測や介入効果の評価にも機械学習を応用し、実社会の課題解決に貢献しています。
